The platform allows you to set your wind and tide preferences, session duration, and favorite spots. It then generates a customized calendar with the best sessions for the next 10 days, complete with star ratings and filters. You can also add and automate the monitoring of multiple spots with detailed wind and tide preferences for each location.
How do I set my preferences?
You can set your preferences by choosing your preferred wind range, ideal wind conditions, session duration, and spot-specific details. This helps us tailor the sessions to your exact needs.
How do I get tailored sessions?
After setting your preferences, UpWindRiders provides you with a personalized calendar showing the best sessions for the next 10 days. Each session is rated with stars to help you easily identify the best opportunities based on your criteria.
Can I add multiple spots?
Yes, you can add and manage multiple spots. You can also automate the monitoring of these spots with specific wind and tide preferences, ensuring you get the best sessions for each location.
What is a credit?
On our free trial, you can track up to 3 spots. Credits are the number of spots you can track simultaneously. In the case of our free trial, you have 3 credits which means you can track up to 3 spots.
What is a token?
On our free trial, you have 25 tokens. Tokens allow you to add spots and update your preferences whenever you like. Every time, you add a new spot, for example, a token will be credited.
Which sports do we support?
UpWindRiders supports all water sports needing wind such as kitesurfing, windsurfing, and wingfoiling.
How does session rating work?
The star rating system ranks sessions based on how well they match your preferences. Higher-rated sessions indicate better conditions for your specified criteria, making it easier for you to choose the best times to hit the water.
Can I update preferences later?
Yes, you can update your preferences at any time. Simply log in to your account and adjust your wind range, session duration, and spot details as needed.
Is there a mobile app available?
UpWindRiders.com is available as a web application with a regular browser but you can also get a mobile app experience by adding our app on your mobile home screen.
How often is the forecast updated?
Forecast data is updated 4x/day to ensure you have the most accurate and up-to-date information for planning your sessions.
Which weather models are used?
UpWindRiders.com allows you to choose from various weather models, including NOAA, ICON, and YR, ensuring precise and reliable forecasts for your sessions. Please note that ICON and YR are not available for all spots and regions. Whenever that’s the case, you will get NOAA data as a backup system. NOAA (that includes the GFS model) is also the more precise and trusted weather model worldwide, that is why we highly recommend it to our users.
